Arabel Christmas

Time has really gotten away from me this year. I had planned to take so many more Christmas pics of my dolls this year, but since it is now the 23rd and I have plenty of real life things to do yet to get ready for Christmas Eve I think it is safe to say I am not going to bring all my dolly plans to fruition. I did get a chance to redress Arabel this morning and take a few pics of her.
She is wearing a 14" Betsy McCall dress that I have had for forever. Its a little big on her, which makes me think it might actually work for my Dollshe little girls too, but I think Arabel still looks cute in it.
Arabel has such a sweet face. I'm really glad I got her. Wishing all of you out in dolly land a very Merry Christmas, from me and my dollies to yours!

Ugly Christmas Sweaters

I happened to be in Hobby Lobby Friday and saw these "ugly" sweaters in a Christmas display by the cash registers for 50% off, since that made them about $3 ea I thought it would be fun to get them for the little ones. I hoped the BID's or LittleFee's would be able to wear them. I tried them on Taigi and Lydia today and they are a perfect fit.
Taigi and Lydia were a little put out and couldn't understand the "ugly" sweater concept at all. They were just upset that they got "ugly" sweaters while Nalla and LW got "cute" sweaters.
I think they look adorable in them though. I promised them next year they would get cute sweaters and two of the others would have to wear the "ugly" ones.
And a last shot of Lydia...……..who thought hers was the ugliest of all, because she actually likes llama's AND pink (both of those things on Taigi's sweater) and her sweater just had an ugly old prickly cactus.

It's Holiday Time Again

I can't believe the first week of December is over already. Each year the time seems to move faster and faster.  I guess it didn't help that Thanksgiving was so late this year. A few new pics of Nalla, LW and Boo since they had on their winter/holiday themed sweaters.
I do believe their sweaters were "Elf on the Shelf" sweaters I found a couple of years ago. They work great for the BID dolls. I need to get out and see if I can find a couple more for my other BID's.
Nalla
And another of the two of them. I really need to get some Christmas decorations out for the "set", but was too lazy to do it today. I've been fighting a cold and didn't feel like digging through my boxes today.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all here in the states that celebrate it! My son and his wife are coming in from Hawaii today, so I have a lot to be thankful for! I have a job I love, my family is in good health and I have a roof over my head, and both of my kids will be here this year. I certainly am blessed.
I found a couple of pictures on my hard drive of my Kish kids that I took quite a few years ago, and even though they are vinyl, not resin I thought it would be a great day to post them. Their outfits were made by Janice Mundy, who is a wonderful seamstress. Janice did lots of outfits for my Kish crew when I was actively collecting them.
And a shot of the little Indians by themselves.
Another shot I found in my archives of Opie  and Pippa. I think Spampy made these for me. We are celebrating our Thanksgiving meal tomorrow, as my oldest son works in the restaurant business and is working all day today, and my youngest and his wife don't arrive until late morning. Hope all of you find things in your lives to be thankful for. Enjoy the day and try not to eat too much turkey (or ham, or whatever it is you enjoy for the holiday).

The Fluke that Fit

Recently I purchased some shoes on Ebay described as fitting the MNF flat foot...……..when I got them home, they were HUGE on my MNF girls foot. I started looking around the doll room trying to decide who they might work for and spotted my little Dollshe girls, who have feet that are a little hard to fit. They are bigger than my other tiny girls feet and even a little bigger than my JID girls flat foot. I decided I'd try these shoes on Addie to see if they might work for her...…………..so dressed her up in the little SartoriaJ dress that my Rosa's previous owner sent along with her, and tried the shoes on over her tights and walla………………...they were a perfect fit!
I guess the advantage to collecting a variety of sizes of dolls is that in a situation like this one, you always have SOMEONE that seems to be able to fit into a size that may not work on someone else.
I had my Caroline's Parlour set out from American Girl as I was photographing my Tonner's last weekend and I thought it would be a cute back drop for Addie as well. Typically she wears period clothing, but its always nice to change it up and try something different. One reason I love BJD's so much...………………...its so easy to change a dolls look.

Alice

Before there were BJD's in my life, there were Tonner dolls. From the time Robert Tonner first introduced Tyler at Toyfair and I saw my first Tyler in hand at a doll show I was hooked. I collected Tonner dolls for many years before the BJD's took a firm hold and I re-focused my collecting on them.  While I have sold off a vast number of Tonner dolls that I had, I kept most of my 12" child dolls by him, and their wardrobe.  My favorite of the Tonner child doll sculpts in the 12" size was Alice, from the Alice in Wonderland series he did. This week the "theme" of the week on the Prego doll board was Tonner dolls and outfits, and it took me for a walk down memory lane and made me want to get some my Tonner dolls out for some playtime. Since this blog mainly concentrates on my child like dolls I thought I'd share my Tonner child dolls here, even if they aren't in resin form. First up are what I like to call Alice light and dark.  The blonde is a "classic" Alice, the raven was a Cherished Friends exclusive and was called Through the Looking Glass. You don't see much of her on doll boards or blogs, but she is beautiful and if push came to shove she is probably my favorite of the Tonner child dolls.
I couldn't resist the sausage curls on this next cutie. Her name is Afternoon Visit Alice and she is redressed in Victorian Stripes. The clothing for the Alice line is exceptionally nice. I wish I had bought all the dolls/outfits  in this line looking back.
The outfit below was sold as a separate outfit in the Alice line. It was called Afternoon Tea Party, and is modeled by my favorite Marley, that I kept, called Rocky Mountain Marley. Her hair is in a gorgeous French braid. They came in blonde and brunette versions, and if I remember correctly were exclusives for Denver Doll Emporium.
Party of the Flowers Alice has never been redressed. She was perfect as she was.
The next Alice is the doll that came in the Victorian Stripes outfit above. She has been redressed here in one of the separate outfits  called Back to School.
And lastly 2 of my Marley's in 2 Tonner nightgowns done for the younger set, the one on the left is from the Alice line, and is called Dreamland. It is modeled by the first Marley I bought, Prep School Marley. I loved her glasses and her little flip to her hair. The yellow gown on the right is called  Bedtime Dreams and is modeled by the Marley from Summer Vacation giftset.

Just Annie

Just a short and sweet post today to highlight the adorable little Annie, who got a new blonde wig a while ago and hasn't really had any new photos since. The minifee's have been stealing her spotlight. Funny how just a change of wig can totally change the feel of a doll. She appears much sweeter and less mischievous as a blonde I think.

Celia

The rightful owner of the minifee body returned this week and displaced poor Isabeau. I couldn't be more pleased with how she turned out. Vitta Vera did her face up. I have become quite attached to Isabeau in the meantime as well, so had to order another body so they would each have one. Ughhh. So much for saving space and being a LITTLE fiscally responsible by having them share. At least this size doesn't take up much room. Since tan isn't always available I was afraid if I waited to long I wouldn't be able to order one.  Oh well, I'll be happy to be able to take pics of them together when the second body arrives.  I asked Akiko (Vitta Vera ) for a very natural face up for Celia (Celine) and as I said before, I couldn't be more pleased with her.
I chose a pair of Gumdrop eyes for her in copper with green rims. I think they suit her well.
I also like her best as a brunette I think.
Although, we did try on this fun bluish green Leeke wig I bought with Isabeau in mind, and I really like it on Celia as well. Really enjoying this size quite a lot. I love the magnetic hands and how well the arms stay in place when posing them.

Still Smitten with Isabeau

I'm still smitten with Isabeau, so since she's between my Raccoon/FID mini sized dolls and my little ones I'm going to share her here. She got a new dress in from Etsy that I bought because I thought it would match her eyes well, and I think I like this look the best so far. It matches here eyes perfectly.

I think she looks very fairy like in this dress with this wig.
I am totally smitten with her and its going to be hard to put her head away when Celine arrives home later this week.

Isabeau and the Can of Worms

Well, she's not really "wee"...…………. she's considered a mini, but she is a bit more "wee" than the rest of my mini sized dolls so thought this would be the best of my blogs to post my impressions of my new girl, who just may have opened up a huge can of worms for me. I've been drawn most to the realistic sculpts ever since I actually got my first Narae in circa 2005, but as many other BJD owners, I did start my journey into the BJD realm with Volks and Luts dolls. My first BJD was actually a MSD Volks Yuni, followed quickly by a Luts Delf Soo. Both of those dolls got their walking papers when the Iplehouse invasion occurred, and I moved into collecting almost exclusively dolls with a very realistic aesthetic (with the exception of my Fairyland tinies). I did have a FL Minifee Lishe back when the minifee's first came out, but she was so kicky, she moved on to a new home fairly quickly. Recently my friend Robyn bought her first minifee, and kept telling me how much fun she was to handle, and how great of a size she was...……and how the "kickiness" was GONE…..and noted she could fit into one of her old "Tonner" outfits.  Through my Littlefee's, and recent Pukifee I understand how well engineered the FL dolls are, and I began looking at the marketplace on DOA at the minifee's. Last week an opportunity on a MNF Celine came up that I couldn't pass up...……………...she was tan, which I wanted, and had the cutie bust. She was also blank, which meant I'd have to send her out for a face up before I could fully enjoy her.  Also FS in the marketplace was a tan MNF Iru head WITH a face up that I thought could very well be a girl (even though the sculpt was released as a boy), so I bought that head as well so that I could enjoy the doll while Celine was away getting her face up done. Both Celine and the Iru head arrived this week and I'm totally smitten.
I got out my stash of Tonner clothing and started trying things on. All of my gorgeous knits (and Tonner did some gorgeous knit pieces over the years) fit her and lots of the other skirts and tops do as well! Above and below she is wearing one of my favorite Tonner outfits from Central Park Stroll Sydney.
I also got out my 6/7 wig bin and started trying different wigs on her. Iru, who I am going to call Isabeau, has reddish eyebrows which limits her wig choices a bit. The first one I tried on above I'm not sure I'm 100% happy with.  I tried on a reddish brown Paris wig on her this morning and I think I may prefer this one a little more.

I love how when you put her hand up to her face it clicks into place and stays there! I also love the magnetic hands for ease of changing clothing etc.
After steering clear of the minifee's for many years because I didn't want to open up a whole other can of worms,  the can finally got opened and I may really be in trouble. Her size makes her very portable and her poseability makes her so much fun. Factor in that she already has a ready made wardrobe from all my years of collecting Tonner (and not selling much of the clothing when many of the dolls moved on), I may be in serious trouble here. Not sure whether I should be thanking my friend Robyn or cursing her, lol! I'm afraid I'm not going to want to put Isabeau away when Celine gets home! And you know what that means? I'm already debating ordering one of the fairy/elven eared sculpts, as I tell myself it would be easier to share an Elf head, then Isabeau can have her own body, for the most part.

Black and Orange

The same sculpt, in 2 different sizes, 2 different resin colors. The Ante sculpt is my favorite LittleFee and Pukifee sculpt. Taking pics of these 2 together make me wish I had gotten a Puki Puki size Ante when she was available. It also makes me want to get a tan Pukifee Ante.
There is just something about the tan FL dolls that really pulls me in. I recently succumbed and got a tan Minifee as well...……..so much for my resolve to stick to the little ones from Fairyland. The way the dolls are engineered, and how well they pose is a real selling point for me.
I saw these adorable little dresses from Trillion on Etsy and had to get them for the girls for the fall season. I thought they would be perfect to take some shots of the girls together.
Annie by herself. She needs a tan sister her same size, don't you think?
And Tudie's close up

A Touch of Magic

Got a surprise gift in the mail yesterday from a friend who loves my little Realpuki's. Nuzzli spied (him/her, haven't decided yet) and claimed it for her own. Dolly friends are the best!! I think most of the other Realpuki's were glad to let Nuzzli have first dibs.
Titi is scared of horses and he figures if Nuzzli has something else to love, she will kiss it instead of him! The other 3 are kind of ambivalent, although Nipper may need to be watched in case he sees the opportunity for a snack.

I'm sure, being a unicorn new guy is pretty fleet of foot though.
Nuzzli is one happy little RP at the moment. Not sure how the unicorn feels about things...………….time will tell I guess.

Three Dollshe Girls

I've wanted to get a picture of my three little Dollshe 6G girls together for a while, but I knew it was going to be a pain photographing the pale tan with the fresh resin, so been putting it off. This morning I finally got them in front of the camera. From left to right is Aislinn (Rosa fresh skin with face up by unknown artist. I got her second hand), Addie (Angela in pale tan with face up by Lyn Raftis) and lastly Rose ( Rosa in copper oriental with face up by Lyn Raftis).
The way Aislinn and Rose are painted, they almost look like different sculpts to me. And Angela is one that we don't see that much of, but  I think her sculpt is beautiful.
Next up I need to work on a shot of my 4 little Dollshe boys, but that will be harder as they don't have as many clothes as the girls do. My girls are all wearing MSD sized clothes, 2 of the outfits from Dollmore and the one on Addie from an Etsy seller.
